Outcomes of Training:

  • Fifteen Goa Firefighters trained in Rescue Technicians Course, Foundation level Road Traffic Accident Crisis Management and Trauma management(6 weeks intensive hands on work). Three officers were further trained as trainers and have the remit of training the remaining of the Goa Fire and Emergency Services.
  • Fourteen people from diverse group of backgrounds (doctors and nurses) completed Pre-hospital Emergency Level 1 course and 12 people qualified as Instructors. The instructors under the directorship of Dr. Jorson Fernandes (lead trainer) have trained manority of the GATES (Goa Accident, Trauma and Emergency Services) staff at Level 1.
    Goa Police have been donated four fully equipped high-visibility ‘First Responder Motorcycle’ units for pilot assessment. This is a unique model for rapid deployment of Pre-hospital Care through police force.
  • Nineteen people completed Pre-hospital Immediate Medical Care Level two course (majority were doctors). Twelve people passed the course and were awarded the Certificates of Passing from the Pre-hospital Care Faculty, Royal College of Surgeons, Edinburgh in the presence of the Chief Secretary Mr Negi of the State of Goa.
  • Sixty-five doctors and nurses completed the In-hospital Emergency Management Course and are now actively supporting the work at Goa Medical Centre.
  • Thirty people have completed National Disaster Preparedness Course and Major Crisis Management Course.
  • Donation of over £30,000.00 worth of training equipment and training to the value of around £35,000.00 has been provided to the Goa project.
